Meet Cathryn Worrell

My name’s Cathryn and I am a UK-based artist and illustrator. My artwork is inspired by everyday life, particularly buildings and the interesting details and textures in nature.

I started my career as a secondary school teacher but left teaching when I was diagnosed with ME/CFS - a chronic illness that (among other things) severely affects my energy levels.

While struggling to accept this change in my life, I rediscovered my love for drawing. It helped me to slow down, stay present and sit with discomfort at a time when life was feeling very difficult and drawing quickly became a regular daily-ish habit.

A small, sustainable art business

I started my art and illustration business because it allows me to do the creative work I love, share it with the people who need it and do all of this on my terms so I can take care of my health.

I create greeting cards, art prints and stickers that are printed in the UK with a focus on minimising the environmental impact by creating products in small batches on recycled FSC-approved papers and using plastic-free packaging.

Every design starts life as an original drawing or painting in my sketchbook before being transformed into a print you’ll want to frame or a card you’ll want to keep out on your shelf or wall year-round.

Buy some artwork or join the creative community

As a self-taught illustrator, I am continuously refining my skills. I use my sense of composition and colour as a guide while paying close attention to detail to create work that sparks a sense of joy, nostalgia and curiosity.

Explore my full range of paper products and original artwork in my online shop. If you are in the EU or can’t find your country at checkout you can also make a purchase in my Etsy shop where I ship worldwide.
