How to deal with unwanted sketchbook drawings

I don't know about you, but sometimes I start a sketchbook, abandon it and return to it much later. By then, I often don't like some of the older drawings in there. More often than not, I'm OK with that. Each drawing usually teaches me something, but occasionally there are some that I feel like I can say goodbye to.

The sketchbook I've been using lately is just like that. I picked it back up after a few years and just carried on on the next blank page, but some of my older drawings were things I didn't want to look at any more, so I decided to re-use those pages.

I have a load of acrylic paints that have been sitting around for years and I really need to use them. So I decided to paint over the old drawings that I didn't like - killing two birds with one stone.

I painted over the unwanted drawings with gesso, and once that layer had dried, I painted a layer of solid colour over them. These are my backgrounds and I started with this green one first, adding a floral design on top.

Now, to decide what to paint on the other refreshed pages. Is this something you would ever do? Or do you prefer to always start afresh on a blank page?
