A Scottish landscape

It's 2 years since I was in the Scottish Highlands where I took a photo of this view. I'm really not that used to drawing landscapes - and this one was tricky because it has a lot going on in it!

With each drawing I’m learning more and encouraging myself to try new things, even (especially?) when the drawing doesn’t seem to be going my way. I’m finding myself thinking ‘I wonder if this will work…’ or ‘Maybe I could…’

I’m also trying to look at each drawing once I’ve finished and notice the things I like and the things I’ve learned, or even the things I’m still curious to figure out.

This drawing in particular kind of sums up what I'm aiming for at the moment with my sketchbook - playing, experimenting, challenging myself and focusing more on the process than the outcome.
