Using a sketchbook to play

One of the things I'm enjoying about my sketchbook at the moment is all the different materials I'm playing with.

For example, that yellow didn't quite work out on my first attempt. The pen I chose wasn't quite the right colour but when that happens I just add something else on top. A bit of paint, a coloured pencil or 2 and eventually it works out, or at least is good enough.

It's fun because it's such a forgiving way of working, and even if it goes completely 'wrong' that's OK too because the good thing about a sketchbook is that you can just turn the page and carry on.
