How my postcard and greeting card sets are packaged

Today I want to show you how I package all my postcard packs and greeting card sets for the shop. Completely plastic-free, right down to the tape used to hold the paper band together.

Keeping things eco-friendly

In my efforts to make my art business as sustainable and eco-friendly as possible, I have all my art prints and greeting cards produced in small batches to avoid waste. And I now send all my greeting cards with no packaging at all. That said, they will always be carefully wrapped by hand (by me!) in recycled tissue paper before being posted to you in a sturdy envelope or box.

Greeting card and postcard sets packaged by hand

But when you buy a set of greeting cards or postcards, they will come encircled in a recycled paper band, which is held together by recycled paper tape. And all of this is done by hand.

I design and print the paper bands on A4 paper, which I then cut into individual strips before trimming the ends and securing them around each set of cards.

The personal touch

It’s a slow and careful process that I love and it means I touch and check every single pack of greeting cards and postcards before they head out into the world ready for you to send to your friends and family.
