An Inadvertent 100 Day Project

Back in April I started a new 100 Day Project. My aim was to draw for 20 minutes over 100 days and I shared the first 35 drawings here.

Once I got to around the half way point of the project I started to realise that I wsn’t really enjoying it any more and in fact I was starting to feel a lot of pressure to draw each day. Since I’ve burnt myself out by pushing throuh 100 Day Projects in the past, after a bit of thought I decided to end the project early.

The sketchbook I was using had 60 pages so I figured that once that was full it would be a good place to stop. So that’s what I did and it felt like absolutely the right decision to make.

Before I started these drawings I’d also been taking a photo every day since lockdown began in the UK. I’d set up my camera so i could photograph the same view each time. And when I stopped my daily drawings I realised that I was actually only 3 weeks away from having taken 100 photos.

I’d been trying to work out when to stop this photo project so continuing to 100 days seemed like a good idea and it also meant that I’d inadvertently completed a 100 Day Project anyway.

I’ve assembled all 100 photos into a video. If I’d realised I was going to do that I probably wouldn’t have taken them in portrait orientation but never mind!

While you’re watching it I’d really appreciate it if you’d hope over to my new Youtube channel and give the video a thumbs up, catch up on the other videos I’ve shared there and consider subscribing if you’d like to see more from me on there.
