I’m excited to let you know today that there is a new greeting card available to purchase in my Etsy shop. I designed this one with Christmas in mind but it is blank inside so can be used for lots of different occasions.
Unlike the other cards in my shop, each of these cards will be printed by hand using a lino block that I carved. That means that no two cards will be 100% identical.
I also have a special offer available now on ALL cards in my shop so make sure you take advantage of that with the holiday season fast approaching.
Find my new card, the special offer and all my other cards, prints, notebooks and original works in my shop.
Today I wanted to let you know that I have a sale coming up in my Etsy shop. From tomorrow until Monday 4 September everything in the shop will be discounted by 10%! You won’t need a coupon code to take advantage of the offer because the prices will be automatically marked down. Anyone who is subscribed to my email newsletter can also add an extra discount on top of the sale prices using the coupon code I sent them when they subscribed!
My shop is stocked full of prints, original paintings, greetings cards and notebooks. Head over there now to choose the perfect birthday (or holiday!) gift for someone, or treat yourself while this offer’s available.
This week I’m working on 3 different pieces of work. First of all I have a client commission piece that I’m hoping to get done probably by the end of next week.
I’m also working on some sketches for this week’s 365 Days to a Portfolio prompt. Since January Marissa and I have been creating 3 new prompts each week which fit into an overall theme for the month (fashion, botanics, animals, etc). However, things were starting to feel a bit hectic for both of us so we decided to slow things down a bit for the summer months.
Instead of having an overarching theme each month, and creating 12 or more illustrations within that theme, we’re now working on one illustration prompt per week (either a new one or an ‘old favourite’). This gives us the space to dig deep with our work if we choose to, or to at least not feel overwhelmed.
This week’s prompt is ‘Repeat Pattern’, and as you probably know, I really enjoy creating patterns from my work so I think I’m going to have a lot of fun with that.
The third thing I’m working on is the 100 Day Project. There’s now 1 week left until I finish my 100 days of hand lettering and I’m kind of looking forward to it being over! It’s not that I haven’t enjoyed working on my hand lettering but doing it every single day can start to feel a bit stressful at times. So I’m looking forward to continuing with including hand lettering in my work but producing it at a slightly less frenetic pace!
I’m also starting to think about how I could make next year’s 100 Day Project a little bit different , or at least easier.
One other thing I want to mention is that right now there’s a summer sale on in my Etsy shop, so this would be a great time to get a discount on any of my prints, notebooks or greeting cards. Just use the code: SUMMERSALE17 to get 10% off any order of £4 or more. I’m also offering free shipping to anywhere within the UK with the code: ETSYCIJ17. This sale ends next Monday (10 July) so don’t miss out!
Every day since Tuesday I’ve been adding a new art print to my Etsy shop. They’re all A4 (8.3 x 11.17 inches) in size, which is bigger than any of the prints I’ve sold so far. Since the beginning of January I’ve been making at least 3 new pieces of work each week so I chose some of my favourites for these prints. These 3 are available for purchase right now. I’ll be adding another one later today and 2 more over the weekend, so keep an eye on my shop to make sure you get your favourite(s) before they’re gone!
For almost a year now I’ve been making art every single day without fail. Sometimes that means digital work of some kind but usually it involves my sketchbook, pens and paint. It’s become something of a habit and I start to feel a bit uncomfortable and unhappy if it gets late in the day and I haven’t drawn or painted something yet.
Building on this, I’ve decided that I want to take on another regular habit, so starting in March, once a month I’m going to send out an email newsletter.
In it I’ll offer some gentle encouragement to hopefully help you move forward with your own creative work, links to interesting articles and other bits of inspiration. I’ll also share some sneak peeks into my creative process, link to my most recent blog posts and give you exclusive discounts for my Etsy shop that won’t be available anywhere else.
