A Week in New York

New York Public Library Exterior

Last week I went on holiday to New York. It was my first trip outside of Europe and it managed to be tiring but relaxing, foreign yet oddly familiar, friendly and kind of exciting.

A week was nowhere near long enough to see and do everything that I would have liked. What it did mean, though, was that I could take things at a fairly leisurely pace and divide my time between relaxing and being a Proper Tourist.

Cathryn, I am blown away by your NYC trip photos–such an excellent photographic tour of the city! Really nice eye for the compositions and palettes of each one. I can’t pick a favorite, but I’m leaning toward a tie between 10th Ave. and the Flatiron building. Thanks for sharing your trip!

Thanks for your comments Joy :). Sorry to say, we didn’t make it to the Strand bookstore (maybe next time!) but had a great time.

You really captured NYC – my home town and it looks like you really traveled the city and saw lots!! Glad you enjoyed your visit.

Thanks Shirley. It’s nice to hear that from someone who knows the city so well :).
