Drawing August 2016 and a Giveaway!

Yellow Flower Watercolour

Over the past month I’ve been drawing flowers every day for Drawing August. This is the 4th year that I’ve taken part and it’s felt like a real challenge this time. To be honest, I’ve never really enjoyed drawing flowers but I wanted to get better at it so a daily challenge seemed like a good way to do that.

Some days went better than others but now I quite like drawing flowers – or at least, I don’t dislike it anywhere near as much as I used to!

Over the past few weeks my following on Instagram has doubled to over 2000, so as a thank you to everyone who follows and supports my work online, I’m running a competition. I’m giving away the signed watercolour drawing at the top of this post, and to be in with a chance of winning it all you have to do is one or more of the following:

If you want to increase your chances of winning you can leave a comment in all 4 of those places. I’m happy to post my drawing to anywhere in the world, and I’ll choose a winner at random next Thursday (8th September), which I’ll announce on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook. Good luck!

My favourite flower is a rose which Kate gave me for my 70th birthday. It’s in the garden and it’s s called Blest. Beautiful perfume!

I love poppies. But it’s difficult to choose just one of course. Your flowers are lovely and you’ve inspired me to draw a flower a day just for fun. 🙂

These drawings are all incredible. My favourite flowers are forget-me-nots.
