Creative Links #2: Winter, Hibernation, Daily Photos and the Moomins

The links I’m sharing this week are a bit of a mixed bag so I hope you find something among them that you enjoy or can relate to.

Lesley Lilly lives in Cape Town and uses her daily commute on the train as inspiration for her daily photo habit. You can also find her photos on Instagram.

I recently downloaded the 365 Days of Flow app, which gives a quote or tip for each day of the year. I shared one of the cards from this week on my Instagram feed because it fit with how I’ve been feeling as the weather’s turned more wintry.

In relation to this, Michael Nobbs wrote in a recent blog post about entering a period of hibernation this winter in order to extra care of himself, while still getting his Important Work done, and how this might involve making some difficult choices.

2014 marked 100 years since the birth of the author and artist Tove Jansson and one of her biographers, Tuula Karjalainen, explains what inspired the Moomin stories.

In this short excerpt from a Swedish radio show (recorded in English) you can hear another Jansson biographer and also one of my old Biblical Studies lecturers from my first Theology degree talk about their Moomin-related research.

You’re going to Wales for winter? Or are you entering into hibernation? πŸ˜‰ Either way I hope you enjoy Michael’s post. I hope you also have a lovely weekend. Take care.
